TAX PREPARATION & ELECTRONIC FILING
FREE TO TAXPAYERS OF ALL AGES!
The Marshall County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will be providing free income tax preparation and electronic filing for you again this year, which will allow most taxpayers to file not only their federal, but also their state return electronically.
Albertville Center on Broad

QUESTIONS: If you have a tax question that can be answered by telephone, assistors will be available to help you three Mondays in February 4th, 1th, & 25th (Monday 18th is a holiday) from 10am-Noon at 256-571-7734.
SPECIAL SERVICES: RSVP and United Way, offers special assistance to those with special needs, including older taxpayers, shut-ins and persons with disabilities. By calling 256-571-7734 to make an appointment, a tax assistor will help you with your tax return at any of the Senior Centers or Nursing Homes in Marshall County.
MORE INFORMATION: To complete you tax return you must have a Social Security cards for each family member on your return. .NO EXCEPTIONS! Medicare cards are no longer accepted. You must also bring W2s, 1099s and other income forms. You will also need proof of health insurance for every person on your return. Make sure you bring the Form 1095, last year’s federal and state tax returns, childcare provider name, address and tax ID, if children are in day care. In addition to these items, bring a blank check for bank routing and account number verification, and direct deposit. Also, a driver’s license or equivalent Photo ID for taxpayer and spouse is required for a joint return. If you choose to itemize this year, bring a list of your medical, mortgage interest, contributions, and miscellaneous expenses and a list of the taxes you paid. These will still be valuable on your Alabama return, even if you do not have enough to itemize on your federal return. If you require assistance in filing due to special needs such as a disability or are shut-in, please set up an appointment for a tax assistor to visit you.
