Breaking News

Drawing of new building

The Marshall County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program has been saving our money and have now accumulated about half of what we need to build a new $2 million RSVP center on property they own adjoining County Park No. 1 north of the river.

"We’re going to have a capital campaign to try to raise the remaining funds for the center,” said RSVP director Jean Ann Moon. But if they can’t raise all the remaining funds needed, the RSVP board feels the funding is available to cover a mortgage."

“This board is very conservative and very calculated,” Mrs. Moon said. “We already have a lender and an interest rate secured. RSVP has owned the property for the center since 2007."

The new center will be more than just a place for retired people to gather for activities. It will also feature a large meeting space that can be used for various community events, including weddings and family reunions.

Tax deductible donations will be appreciated.
